Privacy policy.

Modular Buildings Australia Pty Ltd (“MBA”, “we”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect through this website, why, who we share it with, and your rights — in plain English.

Last updated October 2026

01Who we are

Modular Buildings Australia Pty Ltd (ABN 56 680 040 313) (“MBA”, “we”, “us”) operates this website and the Shouse Designer. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

Privacy questions and requests: sales@modularbuildingsaustralia.com.au.

02What we collect on this website

When you send an enquiry we collect what you type into the form: your name, email address, phone number, your block’s address or locality if you give it, the design you are interested in, where you are at in your project, and your message. We also record how you reached the form — the page you came from, the page you arrived on and where from (for example a search engine or an advertisement), the pages you visited on this site during that visit, the approximate location of your connection (city and state, never your IP address), and basic browser information — so we can follow up properly. If the email address you give already has a Shouse Designer account, we note that with your enquiry, along with the designs saved on it, so the person who replies can talk about your design rather than ask you to describe it again.

When you book a call, the booking is made through Cal.com. If you have just sent an enquiry, your name, email and design of interest are pre-filled into the booking so you do not have to type them twice.

When you type an address on the enquiry form, the suggestions come from a public address lookup (Esri and Australian state government data) requested through the Shouse Designer’s service. Only the street, suburb, state and postcode are kept with your enquiry — map coordinates are not.

We use product analytics (PostHog) to understand how the site is used: the pages you visit, the links and buttons you click, and basic device and browser information. This site does not record session replays, and nothing you type into a form is captured by analytics.

When you order on this website — a Preliminary Package for a published design, or Sketch to Shouse — we collect your name, email address, phone number and, if you give them, your build address or postcode with the order. Your card is entered into Stripe’s secure payment form, provided through the Shouse Designer; we never see or store your card details. If you do not have a Shouse Designer account, we create one for you with that email so your order and your design have a home.

For Sketch to Shouse we also collect the description you write and the files you upload — sketches, photos or plans. They go straight to the Shouse Designer, are stored privately, are seen only by MBA and are used to model your design. Please send only material you are entitled to share.

03The Shouse Designer

The Shouse Designer is a separate service with its own privacy policy, which you accept when you create an account. It covers your account details, the designs you save, the build address and site information you enter, payments for the Shouse Designer subscription, the Shouse Starter Pack and later stages (processed by Stripe or PayPal — we never see your card details), and the AI renders you request. Read it at shousedesigner.com/privacy.

04How we use your information

To respond to your enquiry, prepare and discuss estimates and documentation for your project, and book and hold calls with you.

To contact you about your project or designs, and to keep a record of our conversations so we do not ask you the same thing twice.

To understand how the website is used and improve it, and to keep it secure.

To meet our legal and tax obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

05Who we share it with

We share personal information only with the service providers who help us run the website and the business, and only as needed for their service: Cloudflare (hosting and the database that holds enquiries), Resend (the emails that deliver enquiries), Cal.com (call bookings), PostHog (analytics), and Esri and state government data services (address lookup). Your enquiry is read by MBA’s own team.

When your project proceeds, the professionals who work on it — engineers, energy assessors, draftspersons and suppliers coordinated by MBA — receive the project information they need to do their work, and no more.

We may also disclose information where required by law, to enforce our terms, or in connection with a sale or restructure of our business.

For orders placed on this website, Stripe processes the payment and receives the details it needs to do so.

06Overseas processing

Some of our service providers (including Cloudflare, Resend, Cal.com and PostHog) store or process information on servers outside Australia, including in the United States. We take reasonable steps to ensure they handle your information securely, and we share only what their service needs.

07Cookies and local storage

This website stores a small amount of information in your browser: an analytics identifier so PostHog can tell one visit from the next, and, if you use the checklist on the FAQ page, which items you have ticked. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can clear your browser storage at any time; the site keeps working.

08Storage and security

Enquiries are stored in MBA’s own database with a reputable cloud provider and are only accessible to MBA. We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and limit who can reach it.

09How long we keep it

Enquiry records are kept for up to two years so we can pick up where a conversation left off, unless a project proceeds, in which case they become part of that project’s records. Records connected to payments and tax are kept for as long as Australian tax law requires. Analytics data is kept in aggregate.

You can ask us to delete the personal information we hold about you, subject to records we are legally required to keep.

Sketch to Shouse files are kept with your order while your design is active, and deleted on request once the order is complete, subject to the records we must keep.

10Access, correction and complaints

You can ask us at any time what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — email sales@modularbuildingsaustralia.com.au. We will respond within a reasonable time.

If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, contact us first at sales@modularbuildingsaustralia.com.au. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

11Children

This website and the Shouse Designer are intended for adults arranging building projects. They are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

12Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version and its date are shown at the top of this page. Material changes will be noted here.
