Our Process
From concept to certified kit — a clear, transparent pathway designed to simplify your approvals, protect your budget, and deliver precision at every stage.
At Modular Buildings Australia, we’ve created a clear, transparent pathway that takes you from concept to completion — without confusion or unnecessary cost. Our staged system ensures every Shed Home is carefully developed, engineered, and delivered with precision. Each stage builds on the last, allowing you to make informed decisions with confidence and clarity.
Stage 1 – Pre-Lodgement (Design Overview & Site Plan)
Before committing to full engineering or permits, Stage 1 confirms that your site, design, and budget align. We prepare a Site Plan, Design Overview, and Preliminary Drawings modelled to our pre-engineered system, ensuring your concept is both achievable and compliant.
You’ll receive a clear understanding of site limitations, wind-region suitability, and indicative pricing for later stages. This step protects you from unnecessary costs and delays while giving you professional documentation suitable for council pre-lodgement or planning review.
Outcome: Verified feasibility, preliminary drawings ready for review, and transparent cost clarity before major commitments.
Stage 2 – Engineering, Energy & Compliance
With your concept confirmed, we finalise the certified documentation that makes it build-ready. This stage includes Structural Engineering Drawings, an Energy Efficiency Report (7-Star NCC 2022), and coordination with our architectural partners to ensure seamless alignment for council or certifier submission.
The foundation design is refined to your soil-test results, guaranteeing structural accuracy and compliance. All documents are assembled into a Consolidated Technical Pack, giving you everything required to move from planning to fabrication.
Outcome: Certified, compliant documentation ready for approval — bridging design and delivery.
Stage 3 – Kit Delivery & Assembly
Once approvals are complete, your project moves into manufacturing.
We produce and consolidate your full kit using genuine Stramit® and Colorbond® products.
Every structural component is pre-cut, pre-drilled, and clearly labelled according to the 3D model, making assembly straightforward and efficient.
A full Bill of Materials is provided before ordering for ultimate transparency.
Typical delivery occurs within 21–30 days of final payment and supplier confirmation.
Outcome: A precision-engineered kit delivered ready to assemble — strong, transparent, and built for Australian conditions.
Stage 4 – Build & Ongoing Support
The final stage brings everything together on site. While MBA is not a builder or certifier, we remain available
for support and clarification throughout the assembly process.
Your licensed trades and certifier handle construction,
supported by our comprehensive documentation and 3D model to keep everything aligned with the approved design.
Outcome: A completed structure built with confidence — supported by clear documentation, guidance,
and genuine Australian engineering.
